Event Graphics

Rick has been producing beautiful calligraphy and graphics for special events for over 30 years. As Chief Calligrapher of the White House and a Department of State Protocol officer, you will have nothing to worry about when it comes to etiquette and appropriately designed elements. Be it a small, romantic wedding on your favorite beach, or a State Dinner for your favorite head of state, Rick is ready to create beautiful art for your special event.

Quotes & Poems

As a calligrapher and visual artist, Rick takes great pleasure in interpreting the meaning of texts through the use of letterforms, illustration, painting and textural media. Rick’s current work focuses on the writings of naturalists, philosophers, and poets who have written so eloquently of our natural world. Rick encourages commissions and   can turn your own personally meaningful words into a unique piece that resonates with the grace and elegance of a nearly-lost art.

Logos & Monograms

Having “played” with letters since he was a child, the creative process comes naturally to Rick and he embraces each project as a welcome challenge. While Rick utilizes his comprehensive knowledge of commercial design, from heraldry to the work of today’s most successful commercial designers, his primary inspiration comes from speaking at length with his clients to get a full understanding of the person and the project.
